2025 Australian National Championships: Day 5 Results
Results from day 5 of the tournament from Striker Indoor Sports Centre and Seamer Indoor Sports Centre in Perth, Western Australia. ACT Men qualify top, whilst Queensland, South Australia Women to battle for grand final entry.

Just one day remains before the finals series commences, with the final round-robin matches to determine who qualifies for the next phase of the tournament.
Here are how proceedings panned out on day five:
Open Men
ACT will qualify in first place and are guaranteed a place in the major semi-final, whilst the other three finals spots remain for the taking, with two rounds remaining.
The Rockets’ 28-run win over Western Australia to continue their unbeaten run meant they cannot be overtaken from their current position atop the standings, even if they lose their remaining two fixtures without attaining a point.
South Australia picked up just their second win of the competition, a confident 40-run victory over New South Wales, but the timing was important to keep their slim finals’ chances alive. It also consigned New South Wales to a third straight loss without a skin, putting a dent in their finals hopes.
And Victoria continue to run their games down to the wire, this time bailing themselves out with 18 runs off the last over and a final ball seven for a dramatic tie against Queensland. The Queensland side will be dualling with Western Australia for the major semi-final spot, whilst Victoria hang on to fourth place for now.
Results:
South Australia 130 (4) def. NSW 95 (0)
Queensland 103 (2) tied with Victoria 103 (2)
ACT 91 (4) def. Western Australia 63 (0)
Open Women
Queensland, South Australia and Victoria have booked their spots in the finals series but the former two will battle it out to see who advances directly to the grand final, after the close of play on day five.
South Australia’s commanding 60-run victory over the Victorians all has them four points shy of Queensland but with an additional game in hand over both of their rivals. The match between the Lightning and South Australia tomorrow will confirm who qualifies directly for the grand final. Queensland thrashed Tasmania in the other match played today.
Results:
South Australia 138 (4) def. Victoria 78 (0)
Queensland 151 (4) def. Tasmania 25 (0)

Under-22 Men
Queensland or New South Wales will qualify directly for the grand final, with both sides picking up wins again on day five. Queensland’s were victorious over ACT and Victoria, whilst New South Wales also beat Victoria before overcoming Western Australia in their second match. It leaves both sides with six wins from seven matches and just one point between them. They will clash tomorrow in their final round-robin match with the winner heading through to the final.
Western Australia are a further 10 points back and will play in the preliminary final. ACT in fifth will play the home side tomorrow whilst Victoria finish with just one win.
Results:
Queensland 122 (3) def. ACT 45 (1)
NSW 125 (3) def. Victoria 60 (1)
NSW 74 (3) def. Western Australia 66 (1)
Queensland 129 (3) def. Victoria 97 (1)
Under-22 Women
With the final round approaching, there is plenty to play for with the configuration of the top four positions yet to be confirmed.
As with the Under-22 Men, it is Queensland and New South Wales leading the way, with just three points separating the sides going into their final round clash. Both had big wins today, with New South Wales holding a slight advantage with a three point lead.
Victoria are a further five points back after a loss to New South Wales and a win over South Australia, and could sneak into the major semi-final with a win over ACT, who are currently in fourth after losses to Queensland and South Australia. The ACT side is in the most precarious position at present, with South Australia just a point back and taking on last place Western Australia in their final match.
